Magic Bolt OC redesign

So let's do this. I decided to take a little break from making my game to give my OC a few changes.

Name : Magic Bolt
Age : young adult (crystal pony age)
Special talent : engeeniring, creating devices
Height : a bit shorter than Rainbow Dash, but has oversized wings

Likes : anything magic related, inventing, anything vanilla flavored, loud music (is a huge fan of Vinyl Scratch and goes to her concerts a lot but was always to shy to ever speak to her)
Dislikes : her wings, flying, her eyes, people yelling, crystals, the crystal Empire, being in a crowded place, cooking, anything girly (people actually tend to mistake her for a male pony)

How she got her cutie mark : During a trip to Ponyville, she wandered around in a forest and found a lost pegasus pony child who had his wing stuck under a heavy rock. Without magic she was unable to lift the rock, but she managed to gather some branches to create a small device that helped her lifting the rock and setting the pony free. She got her cutie mark after this. The boy and her remained friends but Magic had to go back to the crystal Empire with her mother and unfortunately they did not see each other that much at all, but wrote each other letters often. When they grew up the stallion unfortunately had to move to another city, and Magic and him were not able to join each other.

Family : Her father used to be a Pegasus part of the royal guard and disappeared after an exploration mission along with other members of the royal guard when Magic was a filly.
Her mother is an Earth pony who makes jewelry. She got married to another pony after her husband disappeared, and became obsessed with the idea of looking good in public and giving good impression. She would constantly try to get Magic's hair look classy when she hated it, and would force her to wear dresses, which she hated a lot. Magic admired her father but strongly dislikes her mother, and as soon as she was old enough she left home in order to live in an isolated house she built in the forest.

Life : Magic has always been picked on for her eyes being different color and her wings being oversized. She used to be a very good flyer which caused jealousy among the other ponies at school -which caused the bullying to start, as they claimed it was unfair that she had larger wings and so could fly better-.
Because of this Magic started hated her wings and ended up spending her time in libraries reading about both engeenering and magic. She tried to learn spells in order to turn herself into a unicorn, but obviously, being a pegasus, it never worked.
She eventually moved out of the crystal Empire to live alone in the forest. She ended up getting a lizard pet that she keeps with her all the time. 

Personality : Magic is rather shy around other ponies, but loves speaking to unicorns and make them talk about their magic. She keeps observing them and hopes to one day find one who would be able to turn her into a unicorn and make her wings disappear.
Around crystal ponies, she does not really trust anyone and will avoid dialogue as much as possible. She is usually not very social unless a unicorn speaks about magic to her. The only exception to this is her childhood friend, but she does not get to speak to him that often.
As for a living, she sells devices that she builds in her house. She travels a lot in order to sell her stuffs, avoiding the crystal Empire at all costs.

Special item : Magic managed to build some device that allows her to capture a small amount of magic in jars. She has to capture the magic while ponies cast spells, but it does not stop them from doing magic again. It just captures the spell. She goes around a lot to collect magic. Sometimes she hides to steal, sometimes if she has enough money she would pay ponies to donate some magic to her. She keeps all those in her house and tries to experiment on them.

Meaning of the cutie mark : The gears represents the engeeniring, and the bandages around it symbolize the fact she got her cutie mark by helping someone. It also refers to the fact that Magic often warps tight bandages around her wings to hide them completley, also putting a kind of cape on to cover them. It's more or less a symbol of restriction, how she does not use her full capacities (Pegasus) and how she feels restricted about not being able to use magic.

Meaning of her eyes : The blue one symbolises her boyish attitude and how she hates everything girly, the purple one is color of the dream and how she dreams of having magic. The fact they are a different color is made to represent how she is conflicted between what she is, a Pegasus, and what she wants to be, a Unicorn.




Fan story ---------------------------




This is something I'm thinking of/writing/sometimes drawing about, I'm not sure if I'll have time to make it a thing considering how much work I have at the moment, but someday maybe I'll make a comic of some sort.

In my fan story, when the crystal ponies disappeared, Magic was the only one to remain because she was away from the crystal Empire. 
One of the rare days she had to go back to the crystal Empire to get supplies, she hears ponies talking about Sombra's attack and how he managed to get inside the Empire when part of his horn had fallen inside there, and she suddenly starts thinking of how much power this thing could contain. Knowing that Sombra has been bannished once again, she decides to go out and look for whatever could be left of that horn.
She actually finds a fragment of it, and has the not so smart idea to use magic she collected with her device on the horn to see what happens. It appears to bring Sombra back in a weaker form in which he doesn't have all his magic, which freaks her out a lot. As ponies pass by she decides to flee and take him with her, afraid that people would find out what she has done.
Before he awakes she tries to lock him up in a room from her house, hoping that the problem would magically disappear, which of course is not working. He ends up getting out and forces magic to bring crystals to him and help him to regain his full magic capacity. 
Magic ends up managing to make a deal with him so she would be turned into a unicorn when she manages to give him what he wants.
She absolutely hates that situation, being terrified of Sombra and hating to have to go so often to the crystal Empire to collect crystals that start piling up in her house.

Some time passes by and she eventually manages to find a way to disguise him and make him get in the crystal Empire where he manages to regain his full powers. At that point Magic had started getting more or less used to him being around, and of course she expected to be turned into a unicorn after this. Maybe part of her had even started to think they were sort of friends.
Instead of agreeing on the spot he decides to make a second deal with her, and says that he will grand her wish only if she uses said magic to trap the other crystal ponies somewhere while he would take care of the princess. Magic is hesitant at first but he manages to manipulate her into doing so after reminding her how the other ponies never accepted her anyway.
Magic looses her wings and ends up being turned into a unicorn, and does as he says, pretending to lead the ponies to a safe area, but ends up trapping them there.
Once this is done, Sombra who was taking care of the princess returns and tells Magic she has been useful before making her horn disappear, turning her into an Earth pony and leaving her trapped with the others. "I will try to make your fate a bit less painful than the others slaves." He says before moving away. 
Magic realizes she has been tricked and is now trapped with the other ponies. But she ends up getting an idea and starts building a device that allowed everypony to escape. All together they manage to get to the crystal heart and use it against Sombra once again, bannishing him once more.
Magic is now still an Earth pony, and decides to stay away from the crystal Empire, ashamed of what she has done and thinking that she should just have kept doing her engeeniring instead of wanting something that was against nature.
On her way back she finds the same horn fragment she had found in the begining, and picks it up, keeping it in her house.
